Julian Maynard Smith is the founder and artistic director
of Station House Opera, and has been a performance artist since 1978
producing solo and group work, after studying architecture and visual
art at Middlesex University. His solo sculpture and installation work
includes Spaces and Narrations in 1998 and Limelight and other works at
Kettle's Yard Gallery Cambridge during his Artist Fellowship at
Kettle's Yard and Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge. Julian has
conceived and directed (and regularly performed in) all of Station
House Opera's projects since the company's formation in 1980.
